Overview

I qualified as a barrister in 1991 and started off my career representing Defendants in murder, fraud and large-scale drugs importation trials. I now specialise in regulatory law (concerning health professional), clinical negligence and personal injury claims.

I have acted in many high profile cases including the Paddington rail disaster and the National Coal Board pneumoconiosis claims. I am well used to analysing complicated technical, medical and forensic evidence.

As well as appearing before the GMC and GDC, I’m also a legal assessor at the Nursing & Midwifery Council (which is why I can’t represent nurses) and also advise the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland on regulatory matters.

I’m married to a Consultant Surgeon, so understand only too well the stresses that medics face in their professional lives. I appreciate that for all professional people, receiving a letter from their regulator can be the start of one the most difficult periods of their working lives. There is a danger of becoming paralysed with inaction – often-crucial matters are left until the last moment in the hope that they’ll simply go away.

That’s why I try and provide a comprehensive and efficient a service as is possible. If we need to work over a weekend in order to get your case ready, then so be it.
